Whitewater Underpass to Summerleas Road Roundabout Path - Construction Soon

Over a year since funding announcements from Hon. Eric Abetz MP - Minister for Transport, Mayor Paula Wriedt and Clr Aldo Antolli, Kingborough Council has put on record that construction is expected to start within weeks.

The tender for the construction of a 3m wide concrete shared path from the Summerleas–Channel Highway roundabout to the Whitewater underpass has just closed, with nine submissions received. Evaluation is underway, and works are expected to commence in August. - Agenda No. 12 - 21 July 2025

Sadly, the Better Active Transport Grant Programs, that had been running for over a decade, have not been allocated any further funding in the last proposed state government budget. Meaning access to local paths like this is not likely to be extended to more people any time soon. Read more.
